PP Woven Sacks vs Jumbo Bags vs Small Sacks: Key Differences
All three products are made from the same woven fabric, but they differ clearly in capacity, handling method, and typical use — making the right choice easier once you know what to compare.
PP woven sacks, jumbo bags, and small sacks all belong to the same product family — fabric woven from polypropylene yarn — but they're designed for different capacities and handling methods. The real difference between them isn't the material, it's the size, the handling method, and the market they serve.
A standard PP woven sack is typically produced in the 5–100 kg range and is handled by hand or with simple equipment; it's the most widely used bulk packaging for materials like cement, fertilizer, grains, and pulses at industrial and semi-industrial scale. A small sack offers the same structure at a lower size and capacity (usually up to 25 kg) — for cases where a 50 kg bag is too large for the end consumer but a durable package is still needed, such as retail packaging for rice, pulses, or animal feed.
The jumbo bag (FIBC) sits at the other end of this spectrum: capacities from a few hundred kilograms up to around two tonnes, always handled by forklift or crane via lifting loops. This difference in handling method is itself the main reason to choose a jumbo bag — once the load volume is too large for manual handling to be practical or cost-effective, a jumbo bag dramatically cuts loading and unloading time.
In practice, the choice among the three usually comes down to two questions: how much load per packaging unit, and will the final handling be manual or equipment-based? Businesses that need both bulk packaging for storage and transport and small-unit packaging for retail typically use all three types at once, for different stages of their supply chain.
